The 8×57 IRS, also known as the 8mm Mauser Rimmed, is regarded by hunters and shooters as one of the most capable and versatile cartridges in its class. Developed as the rimmed variant of the 8×57 IS, which was introduced in Germany in 1905, it retains the proven ballistic performance of the original design.
