Steyr Mannlicher K98 socket 8x57IS
This Austrian-made German Hunting Rifle is another great piece of European hunting history. The Austrian company Steyr-Mannlicher took the concept of German World-War 2 issued repeating rifle, the Kar98k Carbine and translated it into the world of hunting animals. The 8x57IS cartridge it shoots is a perfect caliber for medium up to big game. It is fast, precise and packs a punch to deliver good results on deer, boar, moose and anything in between. The Stutzen is a particular type of rifle that has a wooden stock which goes right up tot he muzzle of the gun. It is mounted with a Zeiss Varipoint VM 3-12×56 scope. Zeiss is known for its quality and precision and one of the most used scopes in Europe.
